Concentration level of arsenic in agricultural soil and surface water used for irrigation in Bukuru, JOS- south LGA of plateau state, Nigeria

Arsenic concentration of agricultural soil and surface water used for irrigation were surveyed in two abandoned mining sites Jos South Local Government Area. DB-Zang Dorowa total dissolved solid, hardness, electrical conductivity, temperature pH the determined according to standard procedure. Result indicates that Total dissolve solids W1 was 156±2.00mg/L W2 (160±2.00mg/L), hardness (35.20±4.70mg/L) (44.67±4.70mg/L), conductivity 0.240±0.189µs/cm 0.120±0.189µs/cm ,electrical S1 (0.49±0.16µs/cm), S2 (0.17±0.16µs/cm), both 28.00±0.00oC are 18.00±0.00 o C, (7.10±0.05) (7.20±0.05), (6.90±0.15) ( 6.60±0.15). The L2 is14.00±0.70µg/kg which is agreement with WHO recommended level L1 257.00±120.00µg/kg not arsenic, while 3.00±0.50µg/L arsenic 48.00±0.70µg/L arsenic. cultivation food crops those areas recommended.
